The reason for the lack of updates is due to me moving into the new apartment and the internet was not set up for us moving in so it took ages to get it up and running. Even after it was up, it kept going down for some unknown reason. It’s a little bit annoying, but hopefully it has all been sorted out.
I have a lot to write about, so instead of a weekly account, I’ll just post up the highlights when I have the time. I may as well start with the new apartments…
They are still in the same area as the last one – approx 50 meters round the corner. When we moved our stuff over, it was raining that evening – it never rains when you want it, but it always does at the worst possible moment.
They are quite well decorated though and the kitchen is actually usable (in the last place it was very dirty) so the other guys tend to cook a bit more – I’m not that keen on cooking whilst here. My room is quite nice, we ended up drawing lots for the rooms and I was lucky enough to get the large room. Again, they are all en-suite rooms and the beds here are much softer than the last place where it was similar to sleeping on a granite slab.
There are no balconies here and it is very dark inside. The washing machine connection does not have hot water so we are washing our clothes in cold water – plenty of detergent and a long wash seems to work fine.
We have two ‘back yards’ which are both enclosed. When it was raining really badly, the one without the washing machine in it got flooded with about 2-3 inches of water and it was like a minature padding pool!
